theme. This works for any industry and is a real eye-catcher.
WRITE YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION
Whether you're looking to advance in your existing company, or move to another company, how about writing your own job description? Look at the way things are currently being done, identify some opportunities for the company, and determine what type of job is needed to make it happen. Then write a job description that utilizes your skills, experience, and knowledge and explain how the job can add value to the organization. Attach your resume with the job description and present it to the appropriate department or manager for consideration. You never know where this might lead and if nothing else, your ambition, enthusiasm, and creativity will be noticed!
INTERVIEW MANAGEMENT
There are a lot of freelance writers, reporters, and others out there who are writing stories about companies every day. Why not write an article about a company in which you're interested in working for? Schedule time to interview managers within the organization and let them know you're writing the article. As you interview them, you'll find that they're also interested in you. The interview goes both ways and you may just be surprised what you learn about them and what they learn about you! If nothing else, you've now made contacts within the organization for future opportunities.
OPTIMIZE TECHNOLOGY
With today's array of tools available within the field of technology, you can easily make yourself stand out. Create your own website that "sells your strengths" and showcases your work. Include samples of your work, depending on your field of expertise, include reference letters or previous client testimonials, include a question/answer section about you and let your imagination go wild. Send the website link to your network of people, include it in your resume, and email it to employers who are hiring.
Another way to optimize technology is to include your resume and a personal message from yourself on a CD. Include the CD with your resume when it is submitted to potential employers. Make it creative, short, and snappy! Grab attention quickly so you can get yourself in front of the potential employer and really sell yourself.
Searching for a job can be a mundane, boring task for you, or you can make it exciting and interesting. Set yourself apart and ahead of the competition by creatively packaging yourself, your resume, and your information.
Things that may seem a little strange or quirky are sometimes the very things that help you nab that perfect job. Get your creative mind working and you'll be surprised what you'll find in there!
