Strange but efficient job-hunting techniques

We live in a world that is defined by standards, sometimes, what will catch the eye of a savvy head hunter is someone who redefines those standards. In this ever changing world where red is the new black, and everything is going green, it is time to step out of the box and put your best foot forward to get the job you want and deserve. It's a dog eat dog world, generation Y is hot on our tails and competition is stiff. You're going to have to get your game on and step it up.

Rejection is tough to take anyway you put it. You have applied for a position, and have done so very well. You know that it is between you and another candidate, and then the letter comes. It's not an offer. It's a rejection. There are several ways to handle rejection. Advertise yourself on Craig's List, in your church bulletin, on your child's pre-school bulletin board, at the grocery store if they have a bulletin board, rent a bill board, but advertise that you are looking for a job, what you do, and how to contact you. Be bold, talk yourself up. It may sound strange, but you'll get some calls.

Network. Yeah, yeah, we all know we're supposed to do this, but the out of the box thinker is going to go a step further. Go to every single public event that you can. Mingle, meet people, hand out your cards. Talk to everyone, join a book club, join a church, join an exercise group or gym, join a playgroup, and NETWORK. Give your card to anyone who will take it and get to know as many new people as you possibly can. Don't stop here, did you overlook the obvious? Have you ever
