In predicting the outcome of the NFL playoffs,
I am convinced that the top seeds in both divisions
will win out.
Jacksonville gave the playoffs a stout run, but will fall
short in Foxboro. San Diego will give also give the Colts
a bit of a struggle but the horshoe will prevail.
Prediction? NE Patriots 24 - 10
Eli Manning has been touted a winner/loser ever since he
turned down San Diego as a first round pick. Archie Manning
wanted his boys in separate conferences to build more hype.
But alas this won't be Eli's year, even with the Giants meeting
Dallas for a third and (again) non successful time.
Prediction? Dallas 28 - 21
New England will walk through the playoffs as they have done
throughout the entire season. They had a couple tight games
and still prevailed. And now they face one of their stiffer
tests with the Indianapolis Colts. They have already played
this season, but that game was in Indianapolis. On the road
and indoors. The home field advantage flip flops in this rematch.
New England may have the home advantage, but will need all of it.
This will include fan noise, weather and the elements.
Indianapolis has the reputation of the ability to score
at will, so NE will have to be shore up their already dominating
defense. The Patriot defense has been known to rattle Indy QB
Peyton Manning. They have caused him to lose confidence and take
him mentally out of a game. This will happen again in their next
meeting in the AFC Championship game.
New England will win the game if snow is on the ground,
the weather is below 40 degrees and the defense steps up.
The Colts may win if Marvin Harrison is returns fully ready to play,
the weather is above 40 degrees, it rains and the Colts
defense and special teams outscore the Patriots offense.
Prediction? NE Patriots 38 - 24.
Green Bay must face Seattle with a homecoming of sorts for
Seahawk head coach Mike Holmgren. Holmgren was the last
Packer coach to get Green Bay a win in the Superbowl and
he may just lead them there again, but as an opposing team's
coach. The Seattle defense will give Favre fits, but will
fall short due to Favre's talent over that of Matt Hasselback.
But Brett Favre will face another struggle soon enough.
Favre will have another long off season. To make it to the
the NFC Championship game and come out short will be a heart
breaker, but an off season soul searcher. Dallas will
not lose to Green Bay, the Cowboy defense is just too good.
Dallas QB Tony Romo does not seem to have the daunting task of
carrying an entire franchise on his shoulders. Romo has a great
supporting group of players, he has a rugged defense and he has
the Dallas faithful talking dynasty again.
Green Bay can win if the currently injured Dallas players cannot
overcome their woes and prevail on the field. I predict that
Brett Favre will return next season, but Dallas is the odds on
favorite as the best team in the NFC in 2007-08.
Prediction? Dallas 30 - 20

New England Patriots vs the Dallas Cowboys
Result?
NE Patriots 42 - 28
New England completes a perfect season.
The 1972 Dolphins can discontinue their annual champagne parties.

The road to the superbowl goes through New England in the AFC and Dallas in the NFC. Since the AFC is by far the stronger
Its division playoff time again for football and fans should be very excited for the teams still involved. All the teams

It would be too easy to predict the Patriots winning it all in the playoffs. However, that's probably what will happen.
