I have written so much about my crap bosses, I feel it's time to write about my current and my best ever boss, Marilyn.

What to tell you about Marilyn? Well, first of all, she's almost the same age as my mum, so I see her as like my "work mum". She generally cares for your well-being, and if you have a problem, her door is always open.

If you make a mistake her attitude is always "that's OK, just try not to do it again".

When she's training, she always makes sure that the task you're learning is written down in steps - she encourages me to write things down as much as I can as well.

She has a brilliant sense of humour, and her loyalty lies not only with the company but the employees as well. She's not into any office politics at all; she's very even-keeled about everything she does. Nothing frazzles her at all!

She was wonderful to me when I was involved in a car accident during work hours when I was running some errands. My car was written off and she looked after me while the tow truck towed my smashed-up car away and helped me tell the police what happened.

I will have been working for this fantastic lady for two years this coming April. I have loved every minute of it and will continue to work for her unless God gives me a better opportunity in the future (like being a full-time writer!)

I know if the workplaces of this world had more Marilyns, it would be an extremely peaceful place!
