If money is tight and you need extra income fast, then try some of these ideas.

1.) Have a yard sale. Clean out your garage, closets, cabinets, storage room, or any other place unwanted items might be hiding. Anything you're tired of or haven't used in a while should be sold. Also, ask friends and family members if they want to participate by bringing some of their old things as well. The more stuff you have, the more likely people are to stop and buy. Besides, yard sales are always more fun if you have plenty of help. Advertise your yard sale on craigslist.org and also use cardboard from old boxes to make yard sale signs to post around your neighborhood directing people to your sale. You might also consider selling some home baked goodies at your yard sale as well.

2.) Check your phone book for local book stores and music stores that pay cash for books, movies, CD's, or computer games. Go through your collections and sell, sell, sell!

3.) Most cities have consignment stores where you can take unwanted clothing and accessories. These stores will sell your items for you and charge a small commission fee.

4.) Ebay is a great way to sell all sorts of items, especially jewelry, housewares, musical instruments, tools, and anything else of value you can imagine.

5.) You can also advertise items for sale on craigslist.org if there are big items you don't want to ship such as furniture, power tools, and lawn equipment. This works similar to placing an ad in your local newspaper, only it is on the internet and doesn't cost anything to advertise. People in your local area will see your items for sale and contact you to view or purchase the items. Just use a little caution with this option, especially with allowing people into your home to see items for sale. I also recommend that you state "Cash only" on your ad since too many people are passing bad checks these days.

6.) Collect aluminum cans for recycling. Call around to businesses that would likely have soda machines and ask if you can place a recycling container near the soda machine. Be sure to go by and collect the cans at least once a week. If you're adventurous, you can do mother earth a big favor by going along highly traveled roads and highways collecting cans that have been tossed by careless travelers. Recycling companies pay good money for aluminum and other metals. You can also recycle glass and paper for cash, but it doesn't pay nearly as well as aluminum.

7.) Consider child sitting if you're patient and good
