How to learn krump dancing

If you think you have enough energy and emotion to perform this new dance style sweeping the world, then by all means have a go. Krumping is fast, energetic and gymnastic, incorporating moves and maneuvers from a massive selection of dance styles.

The alternative to getting into trouble and mischief is the new dance craze called krumping. Using this expressive yet individual dance style will ensure your pent up energy, frustrations and anger are released in a positive way. Thus allowing you to feel better about yourself and the world in which you live.

By using some of the basic moves below and tapping into your own energy and emotion, you may be battling away with some of the krumping professionals in no time. Don't get me wrong, this dance style takes a while to learn but if you have the energy required you might get the hang of it quickly.

MUSIC TO KRUMP TO

First you will need the appropriate music needed to krump. This is usually a slow rap, incorporating amazing beats, base and effects to allow for maximum feel of the music.

Rize Soundtrack (dvd release about krumping)
Stix Don't test my Anger
J-Squad- Rugratz
Tight Eyez-one of the original and best krump dancers.

EMOTIONAL MOVES

In order to give krumping the energy it needs and requires, put all your anger, your feelings of hate and frustrations and focus on releasing this pent up emotion into your dance moves.

BASIC MOVES OF KRUMPING

~Chest Pops~
This move involves breathing deep air into your lungs, lifting your shoulders and thrusting your chest forward to the beat of the music. When you have mastered the chest pop it can be done very quickly.

~Shoulder Rolls~
Rolling your shoulders, singularly or together to the beat of the music. Your shoulders can move backwards or forwards.

~Arm Swings/Punches~
These range from hand grabs, punches to one that looks like shooting an arrow.
Throw straight punches while in a battle stance with your legs apart to maximize balance.

Arm swings are used as an exclamation point at the end of your moves, adding an accent of attitude. While in battle stance, bring your arms back and then forward, crossing them over.

~Foot Stomp~
A foot stomp is used to feel the music in your feet. Lift your leg and foot and stomp to the beat of the music.

~Leg Pops~
Using you thighs and knees to create a locking or popping effect.

~Bucking Up~
A buck bang is pretty much when you use chest pops, arm swings and foot stomps together to form an overall body move. Combined with moving your neck and head to the beat this is very effective.

Bucking up gets you ready to dance, limbering the body ready for this energetic and emotional freestyle dance.

~Advanced Moves~
Each krumping family has individual moves and styles that are unique to them.

BEGINNING TO KRUMP

At first, you would like to learn some of the basic maneuvers used in krumping. Practice each move slowly at first until you feel you have mastered each one, and then make them faster by adding your emotion into each one. Stand in front of a mirror or learn krumping with friends so you can learn together.
