Reasons to believe
One day I read a story about a young lady who was upset about the origin of humanity and how she felt frustrated on not knowing how did we all came into existence. I appreciated her journey which is now perhaps full of questions and inquiries as she examined the Biblical account and a remark that was made by her 9th grade Science teacher. I hope she find the answers she is searching for and seek this "answer" through her own efforts of research. I think, although this precious young lady is feeling a bit frustrated, she is in a better position than she realize, she is asking questions about a very important topic of life. This is a topic that most people seek to avoid or take due to the magnitude of its complex nature.
A topic that most find too frustrating to even examine or one would just tuck it aside because it can bring such complexities to the equation - one may asks, why bother? I commend her for her search and I pray that she would not become too frustrated but just plain inquisitive and do an independent research abandoning all preconceived ideas and notions and try to examine the subject or topic from every angle with a desire to know the truth. I am convinced, this person will do just fine and come to her own conclusion if she possess a strong desire for truth, TRUTH -not truth according to me or this blog, or truth according to her science teacher, or truth according to her parents, or truth according to some other separate entity, but truth that she seek diligently from her own heart and desire to embrace truth regardless where it leads her.
Although I do believe we should live for the present, it is not wise to never consider these real issues of life. Whether one is an atheist, agnostic or believer- I am of the opinion that one should always make time to consider their origin and should ask the question: Is there reasons to believe in God? What are the evidence that points to his existence or points away from his existence and weigh the two seriously and diligently on a balance scale that is the result of a genuine soul search. This is the most important question in all of life because this world is temporal and if indeed there is an eternity, should not this topic be explored beyond some superficial examination that only considers the hypocrisy that is seen many times in religion and used as a rationale to excuse one self from responsibility of pursing answers to this question that may impact your final destiny in life?
