How to make a duvet cover

right sides together and sew the edge with a inches seam allowance. Continue making rows (until you have 7 total), join the rows together and you will end up with 7 rows of 7 rectangles making the top of your duvet cover. I used the following fabric order in my pattern:
Row 1 fabric # 1, 5, 1, 2, 1, 5, 1
Row 2 fabric # 5, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 5
Row 3 fabric # 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1

Row 4 fabric # 2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 2
Row 5 Same as row 3
Row 6 same as row 2
Row 7 same as row 1

Once your 7 rows of 7 rectangles are sewn together you will need to sew a 1 102 x 14 inch strip from fabric #6. You will need to piece the fabrics together from the 2 yards you bought. Once the 102 x 14 inch strip is sewn you will add this to the top of your duvet cover by placing the strip and duvet cover rights sides together and sewing the top edges together. Next you will take the raw edge of the 102 x 14 inch strip and fold in under inch, press to hold the fold. Now take the strip and fold it under again, this time the strip should be folded in half. This will result in your pressed seam being on the back side of the duvet cover and hidden under the folded half (a rolled seam), now sew along the top fold. Now you have finished the most detailed part of making your duvet cover, from here on out the rest is cake!

All you need to do to finish the project is to join the king sized sheet with the duvet top and attach the Velcro. Simply place the duvet cover and the king size sheet right sides together Sew the top and sides together and trim the excess fabric if you want. Attach the Velcro along the bottom inside edges of the duvet cover and attached king sheet using the manufacturers instructions. Turn the duvet cover right side out, press and you a done! If you want you can use the extra fabric scraps to make matching pillows or pillow cases.
