citizen has the inalienable right to be left to their own devices. On questions that cannot be, or have yet to be resolved with any objective certainty the society ought to err on the side of individual rights and liberty. The society ought to leave people alone when hard questions like this cannot be objectively decided. To do otherwise is to infringe upon the liberty of a neighbor and to be truly un-American.
The counter argument is that the individual that needs the most protecting is the unborn. The problem with this is that we cannot say with any objective certainty if or when that "unborn" obtains status as a human being. The pro-life camp will say immediately after conception, whereas the pro-choice camp will say sometime later. Clearly, this remains unanswerable and circular to assert this counter-argument at this stage in the game. Therefore we are left with an individual moral choice rather than a societal moral choice.
Pro-Life advocates will not abort their unborn due to their own belief systems. Fine. Pro-Choice people may or may not choose to abort based upon their own belief systems and the consequences that lie within. That's fine as well. Choice does not guarantee an abortion will take place. The choice and its consequences lie entirely with the individual. To impose an outside belief system on another is to infringe upon another and that action, is in itself, immoral. What the Pro-Life camp seeks in this debate is a moral victory, not a moral wash. Leave the choice to the individual, leave the consequences to the great beyond.

The main issue is whether or not abortion is murder. When does human life begin and at what point is it considered killing?
