These discrete story points include the 'Inciting Incident' in Act 1, 'Turning Points 1 and 2' in Act 2, and the 'Crisis Decision' and 'Climax' in Act 3. This movie's back story is as follows: a husband, Don Harris (Robert Carlyle), and his wife, Alice (Catherine McCormack) are beset by infecteds in their home where they have barricaded themselves during the closing days of the contagion. Alice is later brought out and they are all returned to quarantine. A full family reunion is now in the cards, leading to family discord, as the kids now know that daddy abandoned their mother to their attackers.
