There are some unusual, although some might say strange, job hunting techniques which are efficient ways of obtaining a job. The reason for using these techniques is so that the applicant can stand out from the crowd and really be noticed. In this way, provided that they have what it takes in other areas, they are far more likely to get the job than applicants who come across to a potential employer as less adventurous and less confidant.
There are many traditional ways of maximizing your potential for securing a job such as making sure that you have a great resume and cover letter which shows you in your best light. But this article is to familiarize you with some job-hunting techniques which are very different and which, if you are brave enough to use them, when combined with the more traditional techniques can land you an excellent job.
Inorder for a technique to be successful it needs to be tailored to suit the particular job being applied for. For example, if a job-seeker wanted to work in the field of entertainment then they may dress as a magician and perform a magic act upon applying for the job. The idea may seem bizarre but this unusual approach has been shown to work very well.
This candidate for the job would be difficult to forget and would leave a lasting impression as being different from all other applicants.
Using your skills and individuality during an interview is only one 'strange' way of getting yourself known. The unusual introduction of yourself as a unique and confident individual can begin right from the start of the job seeking process when you apply for a job.
Perhaps a job application could be sent on some unusual material? In the case of the applicant who wanted a job in entertainment they could send in their application on a balloon with a clown as the courier.
This type of thinking sets the job-seeker head and shoulders above the throngs of other applicants. As so many people apply for the same jobs nowadays it is essential to be unique during job-hunting if the job-seeker wishes to be noticed.
It is important, however, to be noticed in a positive rather than a negative way. Some outlandish techniques would be more likely to get their application placed in the trash can than it would to get it placed in the 'accepted' pile.
