'Neither...I'd rather be rich! Then I'd be able to do both!' - Thank you so much for once again lowering my hope for human nature of the newer generations Sis.
Yes, that was the actual response this question got from one of my younger sisters. After voicing my great disappointment in her 'logic' I began to contemplate whether this would be the fate of many other younger peoples way of thinking. If it is the case, i might as well give up now.
If we are talking about this on a first time meeting, superficial, judgmental view on things, people are definitely more inclined to be attracted to better looking people. No matter what anyone says, it happens. I try my best to fight against human nature - but sometimes it does best me. I'm not against talking to anyone though. That I will credit myself. It's a lot better then most people can say for themselves.
If it ultimately came down to it, I'd still rather have brains. Even in todays society where it is increasingly important to be perfect. Because, after all- a picture can be pretty, but you wouldn't try to have a conversation with it!
Like most people (especially females) I can be incredibly vain and spend more time than I probably should on my looks, but that no doubt stems from the pressure that is force fed to us predominantly through the media, and the apparent 'need' to look like, or as close as humanly possible to, the attractive celebrity of your choice. It is ridiculous.
As for choosing your friends/ partner- what IS wrong with liking someone because you get on and they have a great personality?! Too many great people i know are single/ lacking in friends due to stupid shallow people believe they are too good for them. It needs to stop.
At the end of the day, most people will carry on their monotonous, shallow, empty lives and the decent people will be left to the side. Hopefully they will find each other. Maybe if enough people with brains meet up the world will eventually be populated with well mannered, logical, nice people, as opposed to the unbearable, irritating, stupid plastic Barbie's and Kens that seem to be dominating society these days.
All we can do is hope, and try and teach the children better i suppose...
