How to repair a bicycle flat tire

valve through the valve hole then position the tube inside the rest of the tire. Use the boot to wrap around the tube where the cut is on the tire. This will keep the tube from bursting out of the tire and allow you to get home.

Step 6: Trying to use just your hands re install the removed bead into the rim. If you're using tire levers for this step be very careful not to puncture the tube again. Once the bead is in place, make sure that the tube is not pinched beneath the bead and the rim.

Step 7: Pump up the tire slowly while checking to make sure the tube is not poking out of the tire or under the bead anywhere. You want to get enough pressure in the tire to eliminate a chance of a pinch flat which occurs when there is too low pressure and you hit something which pinches the tube between the two tire beads.

Step 8: Re install the wheel make sure the brake is hooked back up. Double-check the tightness of the bolts or quick release and you're on your way.

Remember to take your time to ensure a quality change, there is nothing worse than flatting numerous times on a ride. It is also not a bad idea to carry a few tubes and maybe a patch kit. Patch kits can be very unreliable and frustrating fix but they are a good last resort.

Keep the rubber side down.
