that you can access your personalised news page from anywhere in the world. In short, if you can search Google news for it, you can create a specialised section on your news page to track it.
The personalised news page that you create can also generate its own unique RSS and Atom feeds that can be saved as a live bookmark in Firefox, or subscribed to in the RSS aggregator of your choice. Users of the Windows or Google Sidebars are therefore able to syndicate their personalised news feed direct to their desktop.
Accessing your personalised feed is as simple as clicking the "RSS" or "Atom" link in the right hand column to the "Top Stories" section. The personalised page can also be shared using a unique URL, accessible from the bottom of the page.
The final, and potentially most powerful tool, is "Recommended" news stories.
If you are a registered Google user are have activated the personalised search functions of Google, allowing Google to retain a personal search and activity history. By comparing the tastes expressed by you through your searches and subsequent news selections to those of other users with similar tastes, Google can find news that you should find relevant.
Whilst there are questions around the amount of private data that you may be exposing to Google about your online habits, the power of this facility to turn up news and information that you might not otherwise be aware of is significant indeed.
