CLEANIN' UP

You see, when you have a bad day it makes the bounce back that much harder.
And when you turn and leave it makes the walk back that much farther.
And I don't consider myself a martyr but I feel like it's a jail where they bar the innocent.
The wickedness still exists and it makes no sense.
And I don't know why I've been sent here but now that I've spent time here I fear I've grown accustom to the horrors of the world.
I hope that none of the horrors touch my girl, but I can't be sure.
I feel like I've been fighting another man's war where I'm the General and he's the soldier.
Sure I lead but what does it mean when you lead men in the wrong direction.
We divide in different sections hoping we can thrive in this place where we do nothing but shun everyone else.
And like everyone else I continue to play along hoping before the day is gone someone else will clean this mess.
