There never seem to be enough hours in the day of a busy mother. Sometimes it seems impossible to complete necessary tasks each day. It is possible to become organized and indeed stay organized. All that is required is a bit of simple day to day planning.
Get all your clothes out ready the night before. Put them in a place where you can reach and see them easily. This is especially important if you are sharing a room with a partner who is getting up later than you. You don`t want to have to switch the light on and wake them up. Make sure that everything is there. If you are having a shower get out a towel as well. Make sure the hairdryer is easily accessible. Once you are dressed quickly and effortlessly, the whole day will seem so much easier.
Make all packed lunches up the evening before. Buttering bread can take up so much time in the morning, so do it when you are not busy in the evening. Be organized. Make up sandwiches that won`t become soggy being left overnight.
When food shopping, plan your menu for the coming week. If you know what you want to eat, it will make shopping quicker. Be organized and take a list so that you don`t forget anything. Not only will it take less time when you know what you are looking for, you will spend less. Planning will take the guesswork out of how much food to buy and there will be less wastage. Not only that, the meals should taste better because they will be planned and well balanced, not just thrown together. It would only then be necessary to buy fresh items in between.
You could even be super organized and prepare meals to freeze. When you have a spare day, put aside some time and make several well balanced meals to freeze. This would save time on other days. When you know you are going to have a really busy day, the frozen meals can be utilized. You can do the same with large meals if there is too much. Be careful though, as not all food is suitable for freezing.
Encourage children to help you to become organized. Either give them their own washing basket in their room or ask them to put their washing in your basket. Make sure they put the washing in when it is dirty. They can then put out clean clothes for the next day. Keep on top of the school uniforms. Ensure that you wash them all straight away, either on the Friday evening or Saturday morning. If they are all washed, dried and ironed early on, there will be no need to get stressed about it. Do the same in the school holidays. If you wash them all and the PE kits
