There is no such thing as a Sunday morning Christian. You may have your Sunday morning pew sitter's, but if they only recognize Jesus Christ as their personal Savior one day a week, they are not Christians at all. And they don't even know Him. A true, born again Christian, walks and talks with Jesus Christ 24/7. He is the head of your household, and the center of your life.
If Jesus only heard one prayer a week, would you consider Him a faithful Savior. I think not. For all He has done for you and me, I think He deserves a whole lot more than an hour and a half out of an entire week. If you only have that much time a week for Him, why are you there anyway?
The chapter of Luke tells us; Luke 10:27 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." You can't love only once a week. You have to give your all, just as He did, when He was beaten, mocked, spit upon, and nailed to an old rugged cross. He was scorned and had done nothing, He was crucified, taking the sins of the whole world upon His shoulders. He was a sacrifice for your sins and mine. He didn't deserve to be treated like that, let alone die for a sad sorry world.
If you really look around at the world of today, It would seem that Jesus death was all in vain. EXCEPT for the fact that He arose on the third day, and now sits at the right hand of the Father. Without His death and resurrection, we would no sacrifice for our sins.
1 John 2:1-2 tells us "My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world."
I'm going to compare a Sunday morning Christian with a tree. Matthew 7:17-21 "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven."
I'm not going to write down all of the beatitudes, as there are so many, but I'd like for you to look them up in Matt 5:3-11. They are so meaningful, you will truly be blessed if you learn these blessings. These are the promises of Jesus Christ Himself.
Try giving Jesus Christ more than an hour and a half on Sunday, be diligent through out the week, pray daily, and you'll soon see that He's always there for you, so love Him back, and you will find favor with Him.
