Nethergate Resurrection seemed promising at first, it reminded me of the old Kings Quest game. All the introductory things made it seem very interesting, the story line involving the celts and the romans. The problems came when I started the gameplay, the graphics just aren't good enough to maintain my interest. Now don't get me wrong the graphics are passable given the type of game, its just that its too difficult to get into the lengthy story with graphics this poor. It's hard to tell what is what in the landscape, will it hurt me? or can I use it? One of my team died inexplicably after I defeated my first band of goblins, it turned out that the blue blobs covering the ground were actually hurting me, indicated only by the sound of someone being hit, which I couldn't tell was coming from my party again from the lack of graphics. The constant help files are obnoxious interrupting the story line so frequently that you just want to click the done button and move on, then realizing that you missed some vital information about gameplay that could have been avoided by being able to see what is going on with your characters.
Overall I'd give this game a 2/5, the only thing saving it from a 1/5 is that the story is interesting and if you can ignore the sub par graphics I could see it being a game that could be pretty engaging. The Audio quality on the few sounds that are included are well done, although it could use a more diverse set. It seems like the controls for the game have a steep learning curve, the instructions make it sound simple but when it comes to actual game play it is far more difficult, and often frustrating.
Good things about the game:
Storyline
Choices within dialogue
two different sides to try
sound quality
introductory artwork
character customization
Bad things about the game
Graphics are terrible
controls are convoluted
combat mode is terrible
map is unclear
combat options are unclear
help functions are obnoxious and unhelpful
2/5 severely not worth 30 dollars.

Nethergate- Resurrection: The game that plays like a novel.
What an odd mix of reality and fantasy, history and fable. Pitting

Nethergate Resurrection is a mediocre attempt at a basic visual RPG game. I would say it would do well with the younger RPG
I've played a great many RPG games, and perhaps I'm spoiled by the glam and glitter of Playstation and other game consoles.

I found Nethergate Resurrection easy to pickup since it is a standard role playing game. There was plenty of help to ease
