With all respect to Joel Osteen as a man of God- his message does not complete the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, but it is enabling people to just feel good about themselves. I am afraid he is caught in a place and time which the Bible says, "time will come when people's ears will itch to hear what they want to hear."

He comes from a family, whose way of life was embedded in Christ. Like the Joshua and Kaleb of the bible, he saw God's works through his Father's ministry, and that was his foundation. Unlike the people he is preaching to- they are coming from broken homes, atheists background, rock hearted and yoked in sin.

Every one wants to be loved, and to be loved does not mean to be prevented from hearing the true gospel of repentance. Jesus rebuked the people and called them "Brood Vipers." He also overturned the tables when he found people merchandising in the house of the lord, and it is such incidences that made him unpopular with people- that is why he warned his followers that because you speak the truth, you be persecuted. Not forgetting when he called peter, "get Behind me Satan," when he noticed doubt and fear in peter on Jesus' crucifixion.

Good feel message is good if you are speaking to fully resolved born again audience, and you are up to encourage them to run the course of continuous salvation. Even born again believers, backslide, and a strong message once in a while is what they need to put them back on course. Christians will be accountable of the unbelievers, if they do not warn the sinners to change their lifestyle of sin, but if they warn them and they do not change, then they will be vindicated. Time and time gain, Paul reminded Christians to encourage one another, and rebuke if need be, so that the work of God could be done.

Christ died and of course, our sins were paid for once and for all, but we have to strive for righteousness to attain the price waiting for us at the end of this human life. Joy, peace and prosperity have been promised for those who live righteously, but tribulations are part of a Christian's life- like a furnace tastes the strength of a precious stone, so are the life trials- they determine the level of a Christian's faith. A true shepherd leads his sheep to green pastures ( the full gospel of Jesus Christ) , and on the right tracks, he goes out to seek the lost.
