I used to think that there was only bone true soulmate for everyone. But getting older and meeting people along my path in life have made me change my mind: I think I have more than one soulmate. This is my version :
Soulmates are people you easily bond with , often without being able to put your finger on the ' why'. I have a soulmates who I don't see for years, I have a soulmate who I spend a lot of time arguing with, I have a soulmate who I know understands without the need for communication my darkest fears.
I used to think that a soulmate had to be ' all in one'. Your romantic love, your spiritual love,
your best friend. Now I have somewhat revised my definition: Soulmates are exactly as the word says " Parts of their ' souls' correspond and react to parts of my soul. Communication between two people's souls happens without the need for verbal communication. You just ' seem to know' or feel that there is a connection between yourself and another person.
To me its absolutely and without question a spiritual connection. Because of this soulmates can withstand long absences and long distances. They can withstand disagreements and arguments and misunderstandings. This is because you know each other at a level that cannot be shaken.
A soulmate is someone you just ' know', without having to know much about them. Its often inexplicable.
Once, during a therapy session, I had to draw a picture about my ' core'. When I look at this picture now, and think' every single person I would call a soulmate would draw a very similar picture!
' Soulmating' is a mutual recognition of what lies deep inside you. That which is hidden from view and only becomes visible to those who have a soul that mirrors yours. Its an awareness of the other person's spiritual substance...yes, to me that is exactly what a soulmate is!
