As a Christian and a firm believer in the Holy Bible, it is apparent all throughout the scriptures that angels do indeed exist. They are spoken of as messengers of God quite often. They are often used by God to deliver judgment (before the grace of Jesus Christ came into the world). And they have appeared in various forms, remaining mostly out of view from mankind until needed by God. They are God's warriors in the spiritual realms combating dark forces that would do us harm. They are also considered, God's very own "praise and worship team". I believe the scriptures support all of this. The scriptures also make it clear that they are not to be elevated to the place of God, being worshiped as if they were gods themselves. God has said to worship Him and not what He has created. There is only one God.

There are plenty of people that have had what might be called 'visitations' from angels. Some appearing to them in dreams to give them a word of encouragement about something they may have been in prayer about. Some have had angels deliver warnings through the very same dreams causing them to wake and make a different choice that might have made all the difference on that particular day.

Some, have also claimed that they have met complete strangers that seemed to know them and help them at the most opportune moments, to then simply disappear in a crowd and never be seen again. Unknowingly entertaining angels perhaps.

Some have claimed that they believe in their own personal guardian angel or angels. I believe as long as one does not worship them, and that one understands God's angels place in the scheme of things, I suppose their may be some truth to guardian angels as well. I personally do not know. I may have one and not even know it.

This all being said, it is one thing to say I believe in angels based on what God's word says of them. It is another thing to have an encounter with one yourself. I believe I had such an encounter once:

I remember it like it was still yesterday, though it happened years ago. I was a few months away from giving my heart to Jesus and I think satan (who once was an angel as well) was trying to take me down before that could happen.

I had a cup of coffee in my hand and I was crossing a two lane street. When I was more than half way across, I turned to my left just in time to see a fast moving sports car about to strike me dead on. I don't know how to explain this but I remember jumping up and backwards just as that speeding car was about
