Run, fat boy, Run! And Simon Peggs film about a man named Denis who realizes he can no longer run away from his responsibilities and instead runs, quite literally, in order to prove to the woman and son he loves, that he can be the man they deserve. After getting cold feet, Dennis leaves his pregnant bride (played by Thandie Newton) at the altar, but later regrets it when she finds a new man, who leaves Dennis in the shade when it comes to the looks and money and success department! Reliasing whats he's lost, and who he could be, Dennis sets out to get back the love of his life, and with the help of his friends and a bet they set him, Dennis decides to run the london marathon! Only problem is, Dennis isn't the fit, young man he once was, as this won't be as easy as he thinks!
If you are already a Simon Pegg fan, and enjoyed his previous movies, shaun of the dead and hot fuzz, then this is another great Brit flick that will have you laughing out of your chair! This film is also a further accolade of the brilliant collaboration between Pegg and actor/director David Schwimmer. When working together these men produce comedy which appeals to a wide range of audiences, its witty, strong and extremely funny, so lets hope this winning combination bring us more movies in the future! As for run, fat boy, run! Well, whilst its not quite as funny as Peggs previous films, it fits the romantic comedy genre brilliantly, and its well worth seeing, perfect for a night in with friends or even for a date! enjoy!
