TOMMY HILFIGER ESCORTED OFF THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW RUMOR

For more then ten years there was a vicious rumor that has surrounded the lives of Oprah Winfrey and Tommy Hilfiger. It was said that she escorted him off the show after he made some racist comments. The exact comments on this rumor go like this....

Oprah asked Tommy Hilfiger if he had said, "If I had known African-Americans, Hispanics, Jews and Asians would buy my clothes, I would not have made them so nice. I wish these people would not buy my clothes, as they are made for upper-class white people."

He replied with a simple "YES" to that question.

She then immediately escorted him off the show.

She went on the air on a taping f her show and said that this was a lie that he had never even been on her show. After she had said this the rumors seemed to die out for years. Then recently over th e life of the internet the rumor came back into light.

So Oprah Winfrey then asked Tommy Hilfiger to be a guest on her show once and for all. The interview started out like this...

Oprah: Let's break this down. Tommy, in the 21 years that we've been on the air, have you ever been on the show before today?

Tommy: Unfortunately, not.

Oprah: And when you first heard it, Tommy, what did you think?

Tommy: I didn't believe it. Friends of mine said they heard the rumor. I said, 'That's crazy. That can't be. I was never on The Oprah Show. I would never say that.' And all my friends and family who know me and people who work with me and people who have grown up with me said that's crazy.

Oprah: Well, did you ever say anything close to that? Where do you think this originated?

Tommy: I have no idea. We hired FBI agents, I did an investigation, I paid investigators lots of money to go out and investigate, and they traced it back to a college campus but couldn't put their finger on it.

I got this exact information from Oprah Winfrey's direct website to help clear up any racist tension that lies beneath that of Tommy Hilfiger's. Tommy said on the Oprah Winfrey show that "I wanted to sell a lot of clothes to a lot of people."

Tommy Hilfier is a fashion icon that deserves to be recognized for his great work. Oprha then personally says that if you ever hear of this rumor again either in an email or any other way you should reply "You're supposed to say, 'That's a big fat lie.'"

So let's place this rumor in the false category and move on from here. Oprah Winfrey and Tommy Hilger are both great icons that are not racist in any way! No reactions from me... just a bad rumor that was started by someone who dislikes Tommy in a big way!
