Sometimes it seems that life has to be difficult and that nothing is ever easy. Problems surround every aspect of life. On the large end of the scale, people around us have drinking problems, drug problems, and sleeping problems. Somehow, their problems become our problems, but this doesn't have to be the case.
Then there are health problems. It seems like we all know someone with back problems, sinus problems, bladder problems, memory problems, or heart issues.
We all, at some point or another, have car problems, computer problems, and wardrobe problems. Have ever had your pants rip while bending over? Have you ever had a box pop up on your computer that reads, "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and must now close?" Or the problem that there isn't enough money in your bank account?
Aside from our own problems, the city has water problems, electrical problems, jail problems, and parking problems. Let's not even get started on national policy problems or education problems. Is there a problem with the economy?
Problems aren't just arithmetic equations we deal with in the second grade. We can't make all the world's problems go away, but you can take steps to eradicate the problems and obstacles in your daily life.
1. UNCLUTTER YOUR LIFE: Start with your house. Throw out everything that you don't need, and donate anything that's of value to charity. Clutter problems cause organization problems and general irritation.
2. DON'T PROCRASTINATE: Deal with your problems head on. If your computer takes 45 minutes to boot up, there's something wrong. Take it to a computer repair center. If you have health problems, tell your doctor. People lie to their doctors all the time. Don't do it.
3. DON'T MAKE THE WORLD'S PROBLEMS YOUR OWN: Take steps to help the environment, but don't stress over things you can't change. As Ghandi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
4. ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: While it's normal to be your own self-critic, you have the world against you. Be your own team member and don't criticize yourself.
Remember, you are the one who gets to decide if you have a good day or a bad day. You can't control traffic problems, but you can control your temper, your mood, and your voice. Don't be known as the person with all the problems.
