Not the Hills just the hillbillies! Thats it folks thats all there is. Jasper county, MS I once overheard an actual conversation that went something like this:

BJ: "Hey JD I've got a terrific idea!"
JD: "Yeah BJ, Whats that"
BJ: " If we can send a man to the moon why not send a man to the sun?"
JD: (shaking his head ) "Well BJ I guess because we'd burn up trying to get there."

BJ (smiling) "Yeah but I bet no one ever thought of going at night!"

Now I know ya'll think I made that up but I promise its the God's honest truth! Not a traffic light in sight and a mentality that goes along with the TTR (for ya'll foreigners that Tattoo to tooth ratio).
In actuality this is a great place to raise kids and as long as I can take a long vacation at least one a year I'm pretty happy here. The schools are great and everyone is willing to help out each other .

We were hit hard by Katrina and because of the great community we have water was restored within 3 days and the power company loved us because we fed them well and loaned out our 4 wheelers to allow access to remote spots. (Kudos to the Illinois Power Company We love you!)

The last sign of crime was when someone stole the neighbors lawnmower because their car broke down and they had to get to the beer store before closing time. I'm not lyin' about that either. Just another day in the small town life in the south. I've got a million of 'em just hold your horses for more to come.
