The Pitcher Theory

Hello, my name is Paul I am a 34 year old "Swinger". I have been open to the idea of swinging since before I was 16 and not because I practiced it I just considered it natural. So even though society thinks swingers are outside the norm I consider it the other way around I'm normal and they are just weird. The other day I was asked to explain my point of view on the idea of a swinging lifestyle and love. I was told that the way I explained it was very good so I decide to put pen to paper and try to explain it to everyone else that is interested. Please remember that this is my opinion and is not meant to offend anyone.

First let's get our terms straight. People call swinging by many different names. I'm going to list the ones I know of. If you come up with another term feel free to let me know and I may add it. I say "may" because I'm sure there are derogatory terms out there but I'm not interested in learning nor teaching those.

What terms can be used to describe swinging:

1. Swinging - DUH
2. The Lifestyle (My favorite and what I will be calling it for the rest of this writing)
4. Alternate Lifestyle
5. Alternate Sex
6. Open Marriage
7. Spouse Swapping
8. A Poly or Polygamist Relationship. - Some may disagree with this but I include it because it is an "Alternate" lifestyle. I will share more on this and my point of view later.
9. BDSM - BDSM can stand for many things. It just depends on how you practice it.

Just for the hell of it I went and looked up swinging in the dictionary. Of course swinging can mean a lot of things not related to this topic so I'm going to just show the ones that are. According to dictionary.com it's considered a slang term.
1. To engage uninhibitedly in sexual activity.
2. Exchanging spouses for Sex
3. To engage freely in promiscuous sex.

And there's just more of the same so that's enough.

Now to describe how I view the different aspects of the lifestyle.

Think of a line broken up into segments.

First Segment: Probably what most people think of when they think of swinging and is the first or third definition. Ever hear of the term Key Party? This is what they were practicing in my opinion.

Second Segment: In this segment a couple has decided that they want to spice things up in the bedroom and decide to
