It is better to have a large group of friend for many reasons. First of all, you will have more of a choice of who you want to hang out with that day. You will also have a better chance of having more closer friends but also other friends that if you and your close friend get into fights that you will be able to go with someone else for a while so they can help you get your mind off of things. But I have to admit either way is the best because of the fact that you should have a few best friends that you can tell anything to and a few friends that you hang out with on a daily basis but don't really know what you can tell them and what you can't. Because it is always nice to know that you can trust some certain people then you might not have to worry about your secrets being spread throughout the entire world. I'd still have to say that the more friends you have the better off you are, because of the cliche; "the more the merrier." Another reason to have more then a small group of friends is that some of your friends may not like the other friend you are going to be hanging out with so you can have a choice of who all you want to hang out with at the same time. Because if you have a friend that doesn't like another one of your friends then you can choose whether you just want to hang out with one friend or invite a different friend along to replace the friend that doesn't like the friend you're hanging out with already. Confusing I know but I'm not allowed to use any names, so I had to put it in those terms. Anyway.
