Great rainy day activities to do with your children

How to make a really cool paper airplane, perfect for a rainy day or any other day.

This is written by my (then aged eleven) son.

My dad recently showed me how to make this really cool paper airplane. A plane that his father showed him to make when he was a kid about my age. One day I shall look forward to showing myown children how to make one also.

The first thing you do is get a rectangular piece of paper. I usually use computer paper. My dad has lots of it as he is a writer and never notices when any goes missing!

You take the paper and fold it long ways down the middle. Like this.

Then you unfold the paper and you see that it has a nice crease down the middle.

Then you take the corners of one end and fold them into a nice point .

Then, you fold the point where the corners are over.

Then you fold it in half and rip off the corner.

Here comes the trickiest bit of all, but trust me it is worth it when you have finished.

As next you fold the end over again to form a second point. Then the flap folds into where the piece was that you ripped off.

Then you fold down the wings

And there you have it.

A really cool paper airplane that flies amazingly well, either inside or outside in a park.

Thank you.
