Tips for buying equipment for your home business

In setting up a home business, you want to keep the start up cost (overhead) as low as possible. You don't have to go for brand new equipment straight from the factories. You can get fairly used equipment that will serve as good as any new one for less than half the price of brand new ones. Here are some tips that may prove useful to you:
1 Shop around the Internet (notably e-bay); or second hand shops for fairly used equipment such as computers, photocopying machines, typewriters, etc. You might consider getting a fairly used delivery truck if the business requires a truck and the cost of brand new one is too high.

2 Tell friends about your needs. Some of them may have some items they want to dispose of. They may have ideas how and where best to source your equipment at the cheapest cost. You might even get some of the equipment for free from friends, neighbors and church members.
3 Before you decide to purchase any equipment, get an expert advice from a qualified personnel or someone who has used the equipment and has good idea about it.
4 Compare prices before buying. Don't let any sales person swindle you out of your hard earned money. Sales persons are smooth talkers. Get a second or even a third and fourth opinion before you settle for any one. But be sure to buy equipment in good condition even if they are second hand or fairly used.
