With millions of Americans needing prescription medications you may encounter a drug store on several corners near your home. It may confusing about where you should go and how much one costs compared to another. Here we will take a look at CVS vs. Wal-Mart pharmacies alone. Both of them offer great trained pharmacists to help you answer question about medications and counsel you should you need it.

* CVS pharmacy ~

CVS is a leader in pharmacies in the United States. They have over 5400 stores nationwide to serve you and offer you different ways to refill your prescriptions....

In store refills
Delivered to your home
Online refill

The home delivery is a great service that is provided to help those that have a hard time getting to the store to pick up their needed medications. You can go online to their site directly to see if the medication that you need is shown here and you can get an estimated price that you are going to pay.

CVS claims they are committed to giving you the best value.

* Wal-Mart pharmacy ~

Wal-Mart is known for being a low price leader. Now they are offering a $4.00 prescription plan. This plan is very useful for those that have to pay for their own prescription and are on a low income. The offer over 360 different medications that you can aquire from them for a mere $4.00 for a thirty day supply. Compared to the costs from other pharmacies it is amazing that they can do this. Some of the medications that they offer for only $4.00 cost close to $100.00 elsewhere.

This program is limited to generic medications and if your doctor happens to prescribe you a name brand one, then you can call them and ask them to switch it to a generic one. However you should first find out if it is one that is covered in this plan. They also offer you home delivery and in store pick up as well as online refills.

Wal-Mart has already saved consumers over $15 million dollars in just the year this program has been in effect. Their website is...

Both Wal-Mart and CVS offer you services to transfer your prescription to them.

CVS is obviously a much smaller retail chain then Wal-Mart. It seems that CVS keeps its prices higher then Wal-Mart because they depend on the consumers to keep their doors open and the sales they receive from medications is a large source of their business.

On the other hand Wal-Mart is a large retail chain that does not rely mainly on the medications to stay
