As a home based business owner who operates primarily from the internet, one of your primary goals is to receive as much internet traffic as possible. The more people who visit your site, the more likely you will be to make sales. In order to receive the highest number of internet visitors, you must create your website so that it appears higher in search engine rankings than your competitors.

To do this, you must implement a plan to raise your search engine rankings. This, often referred to as SEO, will cause your website to appear above others when potential customers search specific terms. Which, in turn, will increase the likelihood of customers visiting your site and making a purchase.

The key to effective search engine optimization is repetition. Create articles for your website, using terms that your customers are likely to search for while looking for your product or service. Repeat the term often in your article. The higher number of times a specific search term appears on your website, the higher your website ranking will be with search engines.

As an example, if you sell scented candles, your articles might contain the words "scented candles" several times. This can be in the form of "rose scented candles" or "berry scented candles". Use your imagination to include SEO terms in your articles. Use them often and carefully.

Research done on the internet about what SEO actually is will give you a good idea about what you need to do to ensure your website shows up highly ranked. Once you have completed your articles it can take a couple of days before your site begins to show up in search engines. This is because search engines "crawl" websites searching for specific terms.
