2007 will be a year which none of us forgets. It started out fine, and then sometime around the middle of June, everything went to hell in a hand basket. It seemed that everyone, everywhere was having some sort of unavoidable catastrophe, and it seemed that those little mishaps that many would deem as nothing more than chance were quite a lot more than only chance. Marriages ended, people died in many tragic ways, and relationships of all sorts just seemed to change, and the changes are permanent.

It is as though the Universe were in some sort of Cosmic twist, like we were all being wrung out of the juices of selfishness, pride, ego, anger, hatred - anything negative. It seems as though we were all being forced to show Love, Honor and Respect to One Another, because 2007 was a year in which we had to prove a lot of things to Our Selves, and one of those things was the ability to show Love through means of Forgiveness. Forgiveness is a funny thing. We want it, but we are hard pressed to give it, almost as though we are all supposed to just be altruistic in the area of no longer caring to care about our perceived hurts that were imposed upon us by others. I have struggled with Forgiving others throughout the span of my almost 38 years. There are countless times that I know I hurt my mother, father, brother, sister, husband, lots of my cousins, my kids, a few friends and a handful of neighbors, and I thought nothing of hurting them so long as I got my very "important" point across to them. It was never until much later, far and long after I committed sins against others that I knew what I had to do in order for my soul to grow. You see, Forgiveness is a very powerful spiritual tool, and it is one that can never be over used. Unfortunately, it is also a tool that even as we know we can never use enough, we hang onto it as if it were gold. What we rarely realize until it is too late is that Forgiveness is one of those things that is good for everyone's soul, including those who are using it.

There is so much being said these days about "The Secret", but what no one understands is that there is a lot more to using "The Secret" than just making a wish and waiting for it to become reality. There are so many more things to it, but one thing is sure - Forgiveness is one of those things that are all part of this magical secret that we all seem to want to work in our favor, but rarely do we understand that it takes work, far more work than only wishing on a star.
