Conditioner this recipe is extremely common.
1 avocado
8 ounces real mayonnaise*
Blend the two of these together into a fine paste. Smear all over your head and hair and really work it in. Pile your hair on top of your head and wrap with a disposable shower cap or plastic bag. To expedite the conditioning; wrap a warm towel around the bag on your head. Just think, your hair has something on it that could very well be considered a dip at a gathering especially if you add a little salsa! Leave this mixture on for 20 minutes and then shampoo with your homemade shampoo.
*Mayonnaise is made from a blended mixture of eggs and oil.
Awesome Conditioner
1 banana
1 egg white (no yolks)
4 tablespoons rosemary or olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice, fresh not from concentrate
4 tablespoons plain yogurt
Blend all ingredients in a bowl or food processor until consistent. Put this on your clean hair (you have already washed) and leave on wrapped in a plastic shower cap or bag for 30 minutes. Rinse well.
Yogurt is great for dry scalp and the lemon makes your hair shine as it removes any build up of styling products or commercial shampoos.
Conditioner for Frizzy Hair in Humid Climates
2 cups thick cut oats (oatmeal)
One large ceramic or glass bowl
Sufficient hot water to cover the oats in the bowl.
Pour the hot water over the oats and allow to sit on your counter top for three days. Three days? Yes. It will take time to extract the nutrients from the oats. Pour off the elixir from the oats by straining with cheesecloth. Blend this with one cup of white vinegar and two cups distilled water. Rinse your hair with this but do not wash out. Those of my sisters with frizzy hair will be amazed at the results!
To Add Shine to Your Hair
Blend two eggs yolks (no whites) together and massage into your hair. Rinse (no shampoo) and you will have beautiful shiny locks immediately!
Home crafted shampoos and conditioners are a wonderful alternative to the chemical laden, overpriced products available on the market today. Your hair will be beautiful as will your pocket book and environmental consciousness.
