Cry now, laugh later

Cry now, laugh later? The original text is Laugh now, Cry later. The reasoning may set as a surprise to most. When most see these masks they relate them to the arts and humaities of the screen or to Mardi Gra, and since Mardi Gra was in celebration before playwrites came into action; well that leaves only one place to look at these deceptive masks.
Have you ever heard the phrase "I would rather laugh with the sinners than to cry with the Saints"? If not then you have been sheltered, and if so then you know the meaning of these masks. Most everyone knows that Mardi Gra is the most sinful celebration or holiday and time of the year and whence is as well when these masks are portrayed more than any other time and the reasoning is relatively simple when looked upon.

Laugh now: Live it up and party, let's all get drunk and do whatever pleases the soul and have a great time. Let's tell some jokes and carry on, for life is short and we may as well be happy doing what we cannot control.
Cry later: Now that life is over and the parties have ceased, let's pay for our sinnful ways while on earth. "I'll leave the rest of the crying to your imagination".

Though come as you will with your thoughts of Laugh now, Cry later as this too is my opinion which is based on human society and the we act, I too am sure you have yours. But the origins of history will never lie.
