Best resorts for a holiday ski trip in Vermont

Though small in stature and hidden amongst the hills of the Northeast Kingdom, Burke Mountain Resort in Northern Vermont should not be overlooked when considering your next ski trip. A true classic; Burke has retained its' "local ski hill" feel while providing the amenities you have come to expect from a first class resort.
Whether you are an expert skier or you've got little bombers ready to hit the trails for their first runs, you'll find what your are looking for at Burke. Start out at the base lodge where an easy to use J-Bar will bring the novice to the top of the bunny slope for a wide open easy to navigate descent. For the intermediate to expert skier begin at the Mid Burke Lodge. A high speed quad will whisk you to the top so fast you'll hardly have a chance to partake of the unbelievable views. Doug's Drop, Willoughby, East Bowl, The Powder horn, names of trails that all conjure up varied terrain, deep powder, great jumps, and wide open cruisers.

Best of all, you get the feeling that you have it all to yourself. The crowds do not flock to Burke, which means short lift lines and personal service. Head down to the Tamarack Grill after skiing for great food and friendly ambiance. The village of East Burke, just 10 minutes away provides everything the discriminating skier can imagine; including fine dining, a fully equipped ski shop and an eclectic general store that will take you back in time just by walking through the door.
Burke offers slope side accommodations for as little as $234 a night including lift tickets for two people. Imagine cozying up to your own fireplace after a great day of skiing, sipping hot chocolate. No doubt it's probably snowing, so you know the skiing is going to be great again tomorrow. In the morning you'll walk out your door, strap on your skis and you are on the trails
While Burke may not be as big as its' cousins, for a small resort it delivers on its promises of great skiing, friendly atmosphere and sheer comfort and convenience. So head up to Burke for your next ski vacation, you're sure to have an experience you won't soon forget.
