Kevin Trudeau's book appears to be a cure all solution for anything from the common cold to depression to heart disease, but it's not exactly what it seems. Though it has sold over one and a half million copies, getting itself placed on the best seller list, it is not a best seller to most that have read it. I wouldn't say that this is a bad book, in fact it is written very well, but it's not a miracle cure for anything. And priced at thirty dollars for a hard cover, seems that the only person getting out of this book is the author.
The basis of this book is simple enough, and the idea is a good one. Essentially what Mr. Trudeau leads us to think that the health industry is not what it is supposed to be, the world is a less better place that it was fifty years ago, and that more people get sick than ever before. While all of this is true, there are a great many factors contributing to this than 'Cures' lets on to. For instance, there are more diseases and sicknesses than there were years ago, as well as millions of extra people. This book has very many good points, but is also filled with many negative thoughts. We all know that the health industry has more problems than we care to admit. But this book doesn't do a very good job of curing it, like they so very loudly proclaim to do (it's right there in the title).
With 'Cures' Mr. Trudeau informs us that in order to keep ourselves healthy, we need to think in a healthy manner. Well if that is the case, whining about all of our problems, and being angry while we do so, as the book does, is not the best way of being positive. 'Cures' says we have too many toxins in our bodies that we need to eliminate. To do this, we need to watch what we eat, exercise, have healthy thoughts, get plenty of rest. These are all things that we already know, but fail to be able to practice like we should. The solution? Avoid any types of food that comes in a box, a can, a jar, is processed or has any kind of additives. Oh, so we eat... what, exactly? Not food from a restaurant, because we aren't advised to eat those foods, either. And we can't breathe in the air either because that is highly contaminated, as is the water that we drink. I am afraid nothing is left, because you can't even resort to eating this book because it is contaminated as well! How about telling us how to do these things to begin with, now there is a cure that we could really use, a cure to help budget our time.
But it doesn't stop there. We are also being taught
