Is Christianity under the law a veil of deception that hides grace

Assuming this topic to be a question, what law is a veil of deception that hides grace? Is it the "10 Commandments" that hides grace? The rest of the Mosaic Law {blood, drink, and burnt offerings etc.} has been fulfilled in Jesus' sacrificial death on Calvary and therefore has no claim on those who follow Him. If it has no claim, it has no authority, and can't become a veil of anything; deception included. Is it the Law of Christ that hides grace?

The 10 Commandments

1) I am the Lord your God; you shall have no other gods before me.
2) Accept unto yourselves no graven images.
3) Take not the Lord's name in vain
4) Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy
5) Honor your father and mother
6) You shall not murder.
7) You shall not commit adultery
8) You shall not steal
9) You shall not bear false testimony against your neighbor
10) You shall not covet what your neighbor has.

Is it this set of Laws that is a veil of deception? Jesus said that in everything we do we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us because this is the sum and total of all the Law and the Prophets. Was Jesus deceived? God goes farther when He promises to write His Law on our hearts and minds, so is God the author of this deception as well? Would God hide His own grace with His Law, or is there a snake in the wood pile?

Look closely at commandments 5-10. What is there in these that anyone could object to? Law-breakers might find issue with some of these, but if we're not law-breakers it should be safe to assume we're all okay with these.

Now let us look at the first 4 commandments. No other gods; no graven images; don't take the Lord's name in vain {this one may mean more than is normally attributed to it}; remember the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy. For those who would be as god, the first three might just be a problem; considering also the 4th and that God was referring to the seventh day of the week {Saturday} many Christians today may have serious problems where that one is concerned {ref . Exodus 20:10 11}.

"Is Christianity under the law a veil of deception that hides grace?" When we say "The Law", what Law are we talking about? It may be assumed this Law is the 10 Commandments, but as pointed out above they provide no veil of deception to hide grace; rather they affirm grace by giving us simple, yet effective, guidelines for how to interact with God and Man. Do we say then that it is the Law of Christ; love neighbor as ourselves, love our enemies, give with no expectation of return, and do unto others as we would want others to do unto us; that is the veil of deceit that hides grace?

Perhaps it isn't the Laws themselves, but rather the penalties that we feel are hiding God's grace. The penalties, which are no longer enforced, are now in God's hands, so He will do with them as He sees fit. There is no deceit in this either.

There is one last possibility that I can think of, but it isn't pleasant. Perhaps those who believe this Law is deception that hides grace are those who would be lawless. For these I point to the Gospels and the Revelation of Jesus Christ, and to he who is called the "man of lawlessness". If lawless is what they seek, then this one is the one they seek.

The Law is not deception, it isn't a veil of any kind, nor does it hide or obscure God's grace in any way. It reveals those who rebel against God, and against His Word.
