Teens views: My life without a boyfriend

It is possible to make it through the teen years without the man of your dreams by your side. Even though dating is a popular weekend activity for teenagers, survival does not depend on whether prince charming is hanging by your side.

For instance, without a boyfriend, you can spend more time concentrating on your future so when the right man does come along you are somewhat prepared. Your grades will not slip because all you can think about is that little disagreement the two of you had and if he is forgiven you yet.

You can group date without a boyfriend holding you back or getting jealous. Attend friend's parties and dance with all the guys instead of getting lock jaw making out with just one. While you are enjoying dancing with different boys, you can watch as your attached friends become bored with the same one over time.

Use the opportunity to explore all life has to offer and be friends with a lot of different possibilities. When you are not tied to one guy, you have the chance to test the waters so to speak. Just because you do not have a boyfriend, does not mean you can't date.

Being a teenager is hard enough without having an extra hormonal guy attached to arm day and night wanting to know your every move. Being single through this time allows you the opportunity to explore things for yourself as well as think for yourself. For example, if you have a boyfriend, he may possibly hold you back from doing the things you really want to do just because he wants to hang out with you. Go spend the weekend visiting relatives out of town without worrying what on earth your boyfriend is doing without you. Freedom is a wonderful thing to enjoy and some of your attached friends may miss out.

Take time to smell the roses. You may end up getting pricked by a lot of thorns before you find that perfect smelling flower.
