Teens views: My life without a boyfriend

Life without a boyfriend is not so hard, it's actually easier. Getting a boyfriend in high school may be fun, since is high school after all, but if just don't want to go out with somebody that's okay. Me for example I knew that nothing serious would develop from the relationships that I had with my oh so many boyfriends because I'm Catholic, and Catholics only marry Catholics. Despite religious differences alot of us begin to change when we have boyfriends, we think that guys like us better if we do this, or that, and it kinda messes up our worlds even if you can't see it. Pretty soon you can't learn or listen in class but have your mind fill with thoughts about whoever, thinking that maybe skipping class will be cool and so on.

Sometimes to be in the IN crowd your pressured to go out with certain guys that you don't even like, but if you do like someone they don't like you or are going out with somebody else. In high school especially it makes you look sophisticated if you have a boyfriend, and grown up. I knew this one girl who was a freshman and she went out with a senior, you can imagine what people thought of that. She obviously changed, in the way she dressed, looked and talked, she became a different person. This girl wasn't exactly popular but people knew her, and in what way I won't say but I'm sure you get the point.

Boyfriends are accessories that girls use to accessorize their life and themselves, though they know they can live without them, it's not really hard, because you know that eventually you will leave school and go your separate ways. And getting attached to a guy isn't really the perfect solution. I mean nobody's forcing you to keep him, unless you really want to, no matter whatever the peer pressure is you don't have to do something you don't want to, right?

Just because you don't want a boyfriend doesn't mean you won't have one, sometimes things happen in certain ways for certain reasons. Ask your self if you really want a boyfriend or not, and if you do list reasons WHY? Is a boyfriend going to do you any good, and though it's hard to admit ask your self if he'll do you you ant harm or change you. Good luck, and remember just because Susan or whoever has a boyfriend and a 'perfect' life doesn't mean that you will too, if you follow her footsteps.
