I love the Star Wars films, I really do. I love them all. But, which one is the best though? You might get a lot of different answers.
For the romantics at hearts and the girly-girls, they might think Attack of the Clones is the best. For the racing fans, they might think that The Phantom Menace is the best. For those who like seeing how the story is finally put together and how all the stories fit together, one might think that Revenge of the Sith is the best. Those who are into the earlier days, when Star Wars new, and not known, they might like the original three, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, or even Return of the Jedi.
For me, I kind of do it by process of elimination. Everyone hates Jar Jar Binks right? I know I certainly do? So, Phantom Menace is out. I can watch the movie, and I like it, it's definitely on my top 25 favorite movies list (all the Star Wars films are, they are guaranteed a spot), it was my first Star Wars films, but it's out. Attack of the Clones, though it held the top three spot for many years in my favorite movies list, is out, because of far too much romance, and the overall whiny little prick-ness from Anakin. Now, I normally automatically eliminate A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi for being too old or not having enough special effects, but for the sake of this article, it gets harder. Each of these are great in their own way. A New Hope started it all, Empire Strikes Back has wonderful and great lines by Yoda that you can take to heart, and Return of the Jedi ends the story on a happy note.
Now, for me, I make it a three way tie as to which of the six Star Wars movies are the best: Empire Strikes Back, Revenge of the Sith, and Return of the Jedi. Empire Strikes Back has too many wonderful Yoda quotes to not have high on the list, Revenge of the Sith basically is the glue that holds them all together, and Return of the Jedi ends the story on a happy note. They are the ones that touch me the most, Revenge and Return both leave me in tears or near tears.
