It is that time of year again...no not Christmas and not tax time but your boyfriend's birthday. You want to get a gift that is perfect but with the options and so many ways to go wrong how can you ensure that you are going to nail it? First use the knowledge you have of your man mixed with a little attention to him and you have a great combination. You know how your man dresses, what he likes, and what he despises now just listen to the things he mentions he might like to have while you torture him with yet another shopping trip.

Games and music: If your man is a gamer or a lover of music you have a large selection of choices for a great birthday present. You can choose a video game he loves to play but don't own or one that he has mentioned he would love to have. Music you can pick out a CD of his favorite band or even land him a couple concert tickets to see one of his biggest idols.

Food and company: Every man loves a good meal. Cook up his favorite dish at home for a quite evening or take him out to his favorite restaurant. If he has friends and family he has been missing invite them along for the outing. Heads up if you choose to embarrass him by having the waitress or waiter sing and dance at his table to happy birthday you may spoil his evening and your next birthday!

Time for the two of you: In today's busy world time spent together can become less and less. Take the day off and do something your man enjoys whether hiking, fishing, or just his favorite action flick and cuddle time on the couch. If you have children incorporate them into your schedule but leave time for the attention he needs from just you.  

Simply you: Give your guy your undivided attention. Wear that outfit that he always compliments you in or better yet that racy nightie he adores. Flirt like you have dated months. Share stories, share memories, and simply enjoy the company of each other.

If all else fails: If you have ran out of options you can always resort to his taste in clothing and cologne, granted your man had probably rather have something a little more personal from his girl he will be grateful you didn't forget his day. If you take this route girls stick to what you know your guy likes. You do not want to be presenting him with a less than perfect gift that he will never use.

A heart felt card: Along with your gift of choice add a meaningful birthday wishes card. You can opt to buy a Hallmark wonderfully worded and beautifully decorated or you can personalize your own with more meaning. Always add your own words and feeling to the inside as you lovingly sign your name.

These are just some suggestions on a birthday gift for your guy. Just like us girls every man is different, only you can assess what you need to do to totally knock his socks off on his big day!  Use your knowledge and come up with a swell idea he will remember for many birthdays to come.
