Teens views: My life without a boyfriend

by Katrynna Albillar

The reason I don't have a boyfriend is manly because I live an hours drive away from the nearest town. I'm also not the bravest when it comes to talking to guys: If I really like a cute I guy, I never know what to say or how to act, so I get scared and leave the room.
As for how my life is without a boyfriend: It's lonely. You find yourself getting mad about how happy your friends are with their boyfriend and how in love they are. There are times you meet a really great guy and you seem to be hitting it off...And then his girlfriend shows up, and you think about swearing off men forever...It seems like you're never going to be in a real relationship.

I spend a lot of time sitting in my room daydreaming about how I want things to be, listening to angry chick music and drawing pictures of broken hearts.
Sometimes my friends will get dumped and come to me with their anger and tears, and I feel like yelling, "Get a life! Not all of us are so lucky! At lest you had a boyfriend!"
But I just sit there and listen to them rant. Then I watch them run off to find another guy to replace the one they lost.
When I get up enough courage to talk to a guy I like, he blows me off and goes back to what he was doing, then pretends he didn't know that I liked him when my friends yell at him. I get really mad about it, eat a lot of chocolate, cry a little, then try to get over it. I know it's pathetic, but it's true.
Bright side: when I get upset I clean, rearrange my bedroom, and try some new things.
So the next time you're without a boyfriend and feeling like a freak, remember that there are girls who are not as pretty as you, or as confident, or smart as you who have to feel the way you do when you get dumped every day. Sad but true.
Remember that you might not get another chance with the guy you have and that you will be hurt when you see him with someone new. So do your best in the relationship you have.
