Poetry: Horses

THE MUSTANG STALLION

The stallion crept upon the ground,
His silent hooves made not a sound.
His glinting mane shone like silk,
His glowing coat resembled milk.
His forelock waved upon his eyes,
As he let out several gallant cries.

He pranced around his head held high,
The dreamy horse let out a sigh,
As standing there, if you should see,
The stallion loping about in glee.
He trampled on the earthen grass,
A floating wild and angry mass.

Freedom! Seemed to shout the horse,
While treading ground with such great force.
Stampeding about on tender soil,
His beating heart began to broil.
He raced along the wild deer,
His mighty body rose in a rear.

Alas, the horse came to a stop,
Sweat trickled down his mighty top,
And shone upon his mighty coat.
Away he went, he seemed to float.
The mustang stallion was a sight to see,
For he was a symbol of one word,FREE.
