in return."
"Sounds like fun anyway. What do you think Tim? Can we figure it out without a GPS?" Jennifer watched him think, scratch his black hair and then rub his glasses with a tissue.
"Well, lets go try it out. Do you have a location were we need to be?"
"It's near the river just past the bridge. I'm thinking it might be under the bridge." They walked to Tim's car and left for the river.
"While I was in the Sinclair I heard "the Pike" say he lost a cooler down the river while fishing and found it later about ten miles down the river." Jennifer looked at Tim. He scrunched his nose to keep his glasses from falling off. He said, "I suppose that could happen. He said he was fishing? I don't believe it. He has a bad hand and wouldn't be able to hold a pole."
"Tracy and Roland were there. It was if "Pike" changed the subject quick so I wouldn't hear. What they said and what he said didn't even make sense. Any way they left and he wasn't very friendly when I asked him about the cooler."
"Jennifer, you're always making people nervous by asking questions all the time." Tim pulled the old blue dented up Ford off the road near the bridge.
"Let's look by the bridge first and then walk out from there. By my calculations we'll be within 50 feet of it where ever it is."
"Oh that's great. We could be here all night!" Jennifer pulled out her camera that she always kept in her bag for the "right opportunities" as she always said.
Tim slid down the bank and looked under the bridge.
"Nothing. We have to remember that these boxes are hidden well."
"Tim, what about when the river freezes and the water rises? It could sweep anything away if it's close." Jennifer pushed a bush back peering beneath the brush.
"You're right, but if we think what" Tim paused and looked at something odd stuck in a branch near the flowing river.
"What in the world?" Tim bent over and pulled a sock from the water. Jennifer giggled. "Hey, it's a blue sock!"
"Do you think"
"Are you serious? What would Salmon Meyers be doing down here?"
"I don't know, but something seems suspicious."
"Jennifer, we need to find that box. Let's start walking down river. Maybe the box is on the float!"
"You know what was odd about the "Pike"?" Jennifer said as they walked near the river. "His coffee mug was really dirty but the lid was all shinny; like new."
"Maybe he washed it"
"Do you see any foot prints?"
"Here you go again asking a lot of questions." Tim looked over his shoulder and found Jennifer standing still.
"Now the conversation makes sense! I bet Pete saw Mr. Meyers down here. He probably dropped his mug and that's why they said, where was he and what was he doing.' I bet Mr. Meyers is up to something."
"Jennifer. Stop. Let just keep looking." Tim kept walking.
"Tim, we don't have to. I know where the cache box is."
Mystery:
Where is the cache box and the gold coin?
Clues:
Blue sock
Shiny Lid
Missing Coin/Coin dealer book
Metal box at museum
Solution:
Mr. Solmon Myers knew a gold coin was sent to the museum. He had to intercept it and switch the box with something else. He was looking for the cache for the class project when he thought of switching the boxes except that he kept the box the coin was in and did not replace the cache.
