How to hire a designer for your home business brochures

When designing a brochure for your business you want it to attract attention and interest without giving too much away. It needs to show the basics and compel your potential clients to call. To achieve this it is sometimes best to consult and hire a professional to design the brochure. There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a designer.

Ask around for references. Talk to your friends and contacts they can be a wealth of information. There is nothing better than a personal recommendation. Take notice to other brochures you see. If possible find out who did the work. Gather a few names and make appointments to meet with the designers.

Before you meet with the designers get together your ideas together. If you have a logo take a copy with you. Pictures, testimonials or any significant text you want included should be included. Once there ask to see examples of their work. If you like what see and hear ask for a mock up. All professional artists will provide and example of their ideas. Most will do this free of charge. If they hesitate to provide a mock up move on to the next one. Don't be afraid to ask more than one to do this. It is always a good idea to get a few different ideas.

When returning for the presentations there are a few more things to consider. What is the time frame of delivery and the fee structure? Fees vary greatly so you want to know all the costs associated with your project. Always be sure you have a final sign off before any work is done as well as a revision period and any fees associated with it. Don't make a snap decision. Take your time and evaluate each designers strengths and any weak areas.

Following a solid plan will lead to a trustworthy relationship with your designer.
