A home business can be a rewarding endeavor. In order to help you reach your goals ask yourself a few questions.
Is your plan complete? Get together your contacts, resources and suppliers.

Do you know your market? Can you compete? Do your research and get to know any competitors. The more you know the better off you'll be to jump in and compete successfully.

What are your financial needs? Try to calculate how much of an investment it will take to get started and sustain your business for at least a year. Also if needed include basic living expenses as well. Always add 15 to 20 percent to allow for unexpected expenses.

Are you prepared to lose your own money? If you are financing your business with your own money be prepared to lose it. Even the best laid plans can fail.

Are you versed in borrowing money for a small business? Again do your research. Find a loan package with terms that are comfortable for you. Remember to include these payments in your financial plan.

Are you ready to work harder than you ever have? Starting a business requires an exhausting commitment for the first year. Prepare your family and friends.

With some of these basic things in mind you are on your way.
