Do immigrants really do the jobs Americans don't want?

Many illegal immigrants are being hired because they are willing to work for below minimum wage. Most native-born Americans and legal immigrants refuse to work for these extremely low wages. The illegal immigrants work for these wages because it's more than what they were getting paid in their native countries.

This is occurring because the leaders of these nations don't want a middle class and prefer the oligarchical system. The business owners want to pay the immigrants below minimum wage. There isn't any enforcement regarding this travesty. American businesses and their lobbyists such as the American Chamber of Commerce want this practice to continue occurring.

Native-born Americans and legal immigrants are being systematically undercut by businesses and politicians. If illegal immigrants were deported and American businesses severely fined for engaging in these unlawful practices, more native-born Americans and legal immigrants would be working at minimum wage jobs or jobs that were slightly higher than minimum wage today.

The question seems to imply that Americans are lazy. Some are but I don't believe that the majority of American citizens are that way. I emphasize ''citizens.'' Many immigrants don't go through the proper channels of coming here legally; therefore, they aren't citizens of this nation. Henceforth, they don't deserve any health care or educational benefits until they become legal citizens.

The politicians from both major political parties must be courageous and stand up against illegal immigration while recognizing proper levels of legal immigration. Currently, there is too much on both scores. America is a nation of laws. If we can't or refuse to control our own borders, we cease to be a nation.
