Anyone who clings to an organization, or its teachings, as the means of salvation, will be disappointed in the end. The Truth is revealed only to those who are open to it. God never forces Himself on anyone. But He also never stops knocking at the door of your hearts.
If someone believes they have information that goes above and beyond the revealed Word of God, it is nearly impossible to reach them with the truth. This goes for any group or person. Every cult and manmade religion is built on either total disregard for the Bible, or on special and contradictory interpretations of the Bible, or on adding to the revealed Word of God, thus exchanging the Truth for a lie. So, if they cling to their other knowledge' they will perish in their foolishness. Hard, but true.
Mormonism contradicts Christianity, plain and simple. They will say that is because everybody else has perverted or changed the meaning of the Bible, while they have preserved it, and clarified it with the addition of the Book of Mormon. This makes them the true Christians. Of course, the rest' of the Christian world takes exception to this.
Mormons believe that when Jesus sweat drops of blood in the garden, that this is where He atoned for our sins. Jesus did indeed sweat drops of blood in the garden. This was not because he feared the suffering and death He knew was coming, nor was it because He was atoning for our sins. It was because He knew He was to be separated from His Father. He was quite literally going to Hell. If this doesn't scare the crap out of you, then nothing will. If the thought of going to Hell would cause Jesus Himself to sweat drops of blood, it must be really, really bad. I'm just sayin'.
The atonement for, the forgiveness, the remission of our sins, was accomplished by Christ's shed blood on the cross, with the cross being the instrument of death. This was prophesied in the Old Testament and it was the example set forth by God Himself with the sacrifice of animals. All of this was a forerunner to the reality of Jesus Christ and the sacrifice on the cross He would provide that would remove mans sins, once and for all.
Christianity does not allow for just anyone or any group to claim themselves to be Christian. There are some' guidelines.
Although it is a simple and easy thing for Mormons to say that they worship Jesus Christ as Savior, the truth is that the Jesus Christ they worship is not the Jesus Christ of Christianity. This is why it is insulting to Christians when Mormons claim
