Kids and Christmas tree ornaments are one of the easiest combinations. There are so many great ornaments to make that cost virtually nothing, and the experience is invaluable when your little ones see their creations hanging for all to see.

SPARKLY PINECONE
This couldn't be easier. Go out with your kids in the yard or at the park and pick out your pinecones. Any size is great. Brush off the dirt with a small paint brush, and be gently so the pinecone doesn't break. Roll it in Elmer's glue, and then roll it in glitter. Let it dry, and then thread twine or even sparkly pipecleaners through or around it to hang on the tree. They actually look great on trees because they have elements of the natural tree itself. A winner.

HANDBELLS
Use plastic or papers cups that don't have too many ridges on the sides. Punch a hole or two in the bottom of the cup to thread string through. When the cup is hung upsidedown, it looks like a bell. Have your kids paint the cups with brushes or preferably their hands. They can simply wrap their hands around the cup to make designs. Another nice touch is to coat the rims with glitter. Dip it in glue and then in glitter. They look like bells made with your kids' hands!
