How to make good choices with fast food

Fast food may not be considered to be a healthy choice but many people regularly eat them because of crunch of time. It is readily available and easy to carry. Money also plays a big role here as they are mostly inexpensive. So, let's try to make some healthier choices when choosing a fast food items:

1.Baked or Grilled Chicken: Choose baked food instead of any fried item like fried chicken or fries.

2. Whole wheat tortillas: Whole grains are the best choice when eating out or at home. Opt for wraps with whole wheat and without any dressing.

3. Graham crackers: Decide on eating graham crackers as a substitute for chocolate chip cookies which is high in calories and not a healthy choice.

4. Baked Potato: Opt for baked potatoes instead of having French fries.

5. Fish Sandwich: Fish Sandwich is another healthy choice when eating without any dressing or extra sauces.

6. Green Vegetable Burger: A burger with extra green vegetable is nutritious. Eating lots of green vegetables is always wholesome a meal.

7. Plain hamburger: Eating a plain hamburger with no or less sauce is a healthy substitute.

8. Granola bars: Granola bars can be consumed when thinking of having a nutritious choice.

9. Wheat bread or Pita bread: Low fat deli sandwiches with wheat or pita bread is a good source of nutrition as a fast food.

10. Veggie Salad with low dressing: Eating green salad with low dressing is a healthy choice.

11. Juice or water: Drink juice or water instead of a large carbonated drink.

12. Yogurt: Low fat frozen yogurt is nourishing food item when eaten as a substitute for ice cream. A fruit yogurt can be chosen.

13. Bagels or English muffins - Choosing Bagels or English muffins instead of pastries and doughnuts are again a healthy choice.

14. Less sauce: Ask for less or no sauce/ dressing when ordering food.

15. Pretzels: Pretzels are healthy as opposed to potato chips. Chips are fried and carry excessive calories which could be harmful.
